Newborn kitten -
blind to most things.
But there is
something else -
blatant bias and
mainstream media -
The mother cat looks
out for her kittens.
Who is looking out for
media bias about
anti jihad events,
the truth about Islam,
the history of Islam ...
There's being blind to things -
and there is ...
We all know people who are blind to things. It can be to the failings of their children. It's most often to anything that goes against beliefs. So politically correct people can be blind to anything that isn't positive about anyone they see as a victim.
There's also something else. Deliberate lying, or anyway, if not quite that, then intentional distortion.
That happened recently with the mainstream media around a big first - a meeting, a rally, in Stockholm of major anti-jihad groups. People like Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller were there, flew from the States to be there.
I'd heard the event was happening. Then a friend sent me a report from the big mainstream media.
And it pushed my buttons -
the utter intentional misreporting of the Stockholm pro-freedom anti-jihad rally.
I've heard of media repression in nasty dictatorships, in Communist and fascist countries.
This was in the supposedly liberal West, where there is supposedly a media that can report the facts, as well as they can be established.
The West, where intrepid reporters dig out the truth and break through lies and secrets.
That isn't what happened here.
The rally was smeared as "far right"- not once, but 4 times, in a short article that appeared in many mainstream reports.
That the rally was counter-jihad was mentioned, but put in quotes ("counter-jihad") - as if that's not what we're really about, as if we only pretend to be anti-jihad.
Then of course there was the reference to "anti-Islamic fanatic Anders Behring Breivik, who killed 77 people," but of course no reference to the many more killed by Islamic fanatics, like the more than 3000 in the little incident in New York involving 2 airplanes and a couple of buildings. Of course, as well, there was no mention of the fact that Anders himself claims to have been inspired by ... Al-Quaeda.
On and on and on - massive mainstream media bias, a mass of media distortions.
So the police, in the mainstream report, had to keep the "far right" group and another group apart. Why? Nothing is mentioned in the article. But it's obvious - the other side (positively designated as anti-racist, more than once) was violent. Several people in fact had to be arrested.
To find out why, I had to turn to very non-mainstream media (anti-jihad media, in fact) - Robert Spencer's JihadWatch and Pamela Geller's AtlasShrugs. It's also only there that I learned that a police officer may lose an eye - due to the screaming, raging "anti-racist" group, not the supposedly far right one.

What does the mainstream media bias indicate? What do the media distortions let us know? What powerful forces we're up against.
One very big question comes to mind:
why is there no mainstream reporter breaking this story? tracking down the facts? why is there no mainstream whistle-blower?
A few decades ago,
reporters cracked President Nixon's wrongdoings, and that toppled him from the presidency. That was a much harder task.
Why is no big newspaper tracking down this deliberate distorting?
Why instead does something that does not merit the designation of news get passed off as news?
What do I care about?
As the detective says in the movies, "Give me the facts, ma'am, nothing but the facts."
All the best to all of us who care to preserve Western freedoms, like the freedom to unearth and present facts.
PS. This mainstream media bias makes it all the more important to hear about us as people, as in the teleseminar series I'm putting together.
PPS. For the mainstream version of the event, here are a couple of sources:

Mainstream media distortions -
they bring us to the big question:
why such biased media?
Mainstream media bias against
facts easy to ascertain
bring us to the same big question:
why such biased media?
Mainstream media lies again ask us to ask:
why, and once again why -
why such biased mainstream media?
Why isn't there unbiased reporting
about a first, an international conference
on political Islam, on Islamism?
Why is the biased media account
not thrown out,
why isn't the reporter fired
for blatant lack of accuracy?
Could it be just political correctness?
But this isn't even just seeing it from one side.
It's ignoring facts,
and not fearing the consequences,
and not needing to face the consequences.
President Richard Nixon
didn't have it that easy -
and he was president of the United States.
Next, something very different.
