The Joker Is Wild
A few days ago, the words, The Joker Is Wild, kept going through my head. I thought of a game I played a lot in childhood - Crazy Eights. The joker was wild - and that could change everything.
Lately I've been feeling that the world is in some strange game - just the tiniest bit like Crazy Eights. My sense: there are wild cards, and they could change everything.
What is the game? It's between Islam and the West. There are those in Islam who set this game in motion, who are playing the game of Islamic world domination according to ancient strategies - visible jihad, stealth jihad, the denial of the game, the flaunting of the goal, and many more.
Most of the people in the West don't know that the game is happening - so of course have no strategies for countering it.
My sense: if you're in the West and aware of the game, it's a bit like being an aboriginal American in the Mid West while whites are colonizing the East Coast of the United States. You want to stop the colonization, and if possible, reverse things. Then: there was no internet, no global overview. Now: we do have many more means of communication. We can get a much better sense of what is happening, link with others worldwide, and on and on.
Back to the game and to wild cards.
Re games. There are rules. And good players have strategies.
In this game, I don't know the rules, not all of them anyway, not by a long shot. I'm just trying to figure out effective strategies.
Wild cards. Hitler was a wild card. So was Churchill.
Much more recently, the video of Muhammad's life is a wild card - though well before that video was released, Islamist plans were in place to move against the US embassy where Chris Stevens was killed. The violence was not a wild card: it was part of a long-term strategy.
Obama is certainly a wild card - an American president with a Muslim father, an American president very positively disposed to Islam. An American president who spoke of commitment to support Israel before his election, and is shifting.
So many wild cards.
In a tiny level, I see us all as wild cards.
One person wrote to me, "the displayed cowardice of the West in the face of Islamic jihad is emboldening Muslims around the world."
That is one reason why I think counter-jihad wild cards are important - as are powerful strategies. I'm more at home with wild cards.
And as I said, I see us all as potential wild cards in what is happening between Islam and the West - and we all know that one wild card can make all the difference.
Obama - a wild card.
The video on Muhammad - a wild card.
The murder of the American ambassador.
The 2 American soldiers who died after holding off attackers for 7 hours, during which time, 3 times over, available assistance was denied to them by Americans.
Too many wild cards in there even to count them.
So many wild cards.
And a "game" with very high stakes. The values of the West vs Islamic doctrine. (I also keep doubting that something as weird as this game could be happening. But then more info comes in.)
May our wild cards turn this game in major ways to benefit the cause of freedom of thought and speech, the cause of safety to think and act and live fully.
All the best to all of us,
Elsa
PS. As I've said, I don't know the rules of this game - rules and moves put in place by Islamists - fundamentalist Muslims believing the Qur'anic dream of world domination. But some people do. First, those Muslims helping create the Islamic moves. Second, non-Muslims. who have explored Islamic history and Islamic religious texts far more than I have. These are key people.
I still hold that a few wild cards can make an enormous difference.
But
a good underlying strategy - in the long run, that is fundamental, especially as such a strategy can include making good use of wild cards.
PPS. One great Islamist strategy: yelling this is anti Islam, anti Islam, criticism of Islam, criticism of Islam, Islam religion of peace, Islam religion of peace, any time anyone points out anything to do with the game. The outcry makes use of 2 strategies: first, offense if the best defense, and second, taqiyya, deliberate deception of outsiders.

PPPS. THE JOKER IS WILD - now (November 13, 2012) also a spoken word piece. Music is being developed.

Powerful anti Islam wild cards.
Criticism of Islam, Islamic beliefs.
The joker is wild. Are you a wild card?
Plus, is to be pro-West and freedom of speech
automatically anti Islam?
Is to have Western values criticism of Islam
and anti Islam?
