COMMENTS ON MUSLIM HEADSCARF, HIJAB.
If a woman wears Islamic headwear,
which Islamic beliefs is she likely to accept?

  Muslim headwear headscarf hijab

Muslim headwesr

What does it mean,
that this woman
is wearing
Muslim headwear?
What is she announcing
to the world?
Does she believe
that people she considers
infidels should be killed?

Muslim headscarf

What does it mean,
that this woman
is wearing
a Muslim headscarf?
Is she for
a worldwide caliphate,
with everyone forced
to live under Sharia -
with non-Muslims forced
to pay a tax and to have
utterly inferior status?

Muslim hijab

What does it mean,
that this woman
is wearing
a Muslim hijab?
Does she believe
a woman's word
is worth half a man's,
that a woman should
always be under
male control,
that a man has
the right to beat
a disobedient wife?

Here are the comments:

I too, question the wearing of the headscarf. It frustrates me as a women that we have to watch a women subjugating herself to this so called religion.

I do not believe that the wearing of the headscarf should be acceptable in our society. This just shows that women are thought of as less than a man.

I question why our Canadian values are continually being devalued. As a Christian we are being demeaned and our religion is constantly under attack. We continue to be fooled by the "so called religion of peace."

Thank you for your very well written information on this matter.

Very thoughtful comments.

I read your article about women in headscarfs and found it quite brilliant. I think it probably captures what a lot of people now feel; I too once looked at a headscarf or other Islamic garb and didn't think anything, just told myself to be tolerant of another's religious expression. Now I think exactly what you describe, essentially, 'This woman is signaling that she cherishes a lot of repugnant beliefs, that she thinks of me as a second-class citizen (or worse), and that she despises the norms and values of Western culture. I am revolted to see her.'

Thanks for writing it.

I think your IDEA is BRILLIANT.

You are exposing our civilizational blind-spot.

These scarfs have greatly multiplied in the recent two decades. Everyone looks at them, and nobody can see the obvious truth. The truth only becomes obvious when you remove the culturally correct blinders.

So I think that your idea is extremely powerful.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this. When I read the following paragraph to my daughter she indignantly replied, "Well Mom, would you rather have them treat her horribly or be nice to her?"

(Do most non-Muslims in the West respond with hostility, aversion, fear to women advertising their adherence to such an ideology? A Canadian journalist put on the Muslim headdress for a few days in order to record the prejudice Muslim women experience - and found that she was treated more positively than without it! (She saw this as a sign of racism - that people were not entirely neutral to the headdress, and instead cared to show they were tolerant and accepting! Oh well, what can you expect from the politically correct.)

I quickly read her the paragraph that followed to which she gave me a disgusted kind of "really?" look. She's leaving for college next month and I think still prefers to deny the truth about Islam, too scary for her to accept as reality.

I have recently gone back to work at a university and see young women every day wearing headscarves, also more and more in our community with the full black dress, eyes only showing ~ scary. I've been trying to come up with ways to approach them when they're sitting by themselves having lunch or reading. I agree with my daughter that they should not be treated with contempt, I feel it's important to try to engage them. As a practicing Christian, so far I've been offering up prayers for them to be released from their blindness, to know the love of Jesus Christ. I've printed the sheet you provided and will be working up the boldness to one day, hopefully soon, approach one of the women wearing a headdress.

Lastly, I will cautiously consider who I should send this e-mail to because I fear that the immediate response for some toward what these people believe is hatred for the person and the last thing the world needs right now is responding to hatred with more hatred. As hard as it is to do I will strive to love my enemies, bless those who curse me, do good to those who hate me, and pray for those who persecute me. (Matt 5:44)

Thanks again for taking the time to think these things through for us!

We have been educated that multiculturalism trumps Canadian values and that Canadians have no culture. They would have us believe that the Judeo- Christian values that many Canadians adhere to are secondary to all others.

When we stand up for our values we are shamed and called racists and bigots.

I will not subjugate myself to any of this criticism and I am not a racist or bigot.

Thank you for writing this.

For me, when I see a woman in the Muslim headscarf (or more), I too see a member of a political ideology whose goal is world domination by Sharia Law. They move easily amongst us, using our laws and freedoms against us: imagine, here is the population of Muslims in the U.S.A. that is less than 1.8% of our entire population and look at how WE are forced to bow and scrape for them because of the significant political power they have here. It ain't right. I do not show Muslims any favor, even though our government certainly does.

Nice idea those flyers. Very useful.

You also should make the same for men. Maybe the woman is a victim, she had to wear the veil because she has no choice. The men HAVE the choice not to wear distinctive clothing, so they are deliberately choosing to tell us what they think & believe.

The men beat women, enslave and kill others. Islam is an ideology of men, for men.

You should consider to focus more on muslim men.

Nice work!

REPLY:

Glad you like the flyer.

Re making a similar one for men. I think that women with the headscarf, and men with distinctive clothing and beards, become visible at different times. Here the scarf-wearing women tend to be accompanied by other similar women or men in Western-dress (jeans, t-shirts).

Another thought: men in Muslim-type clothing look more menacing than women in headscarves. The women often look harmless.

It's only by thinking of what their outfits stand for that I pull back.

Israel has found racial and religious profiling to be very effective in reducing terrorist attacks on their national airlines, El Al.

Crime statistics indicate that most terrorists are Muslims! This means that Muslims have a much higher statistical probability of being terrorists!

Now, I'm NOT saying that all or most Muslims are terrorists. We are just looking a statistical probabilities. These are factual and scientific. So, its very important to reduce or better still, stop Muslim migration to all Western nations.

The moment we talk about racial and religious profiling (its actually common sense), we get huge and loud protests from CAIR and most liberals (they are thoroughly misguided!). They start screaming "Islamophobe", "racist", "bigot" etc.

They do not have sound arguments based on facts and logic to refute us, so they just resort to name calling and playing on people's emotions! Muslims are good at playing the victim whilst spouting huge amounts of hatred against Jews and us Americans!

That is a good question, what lies behind the veil. I guess it can vary with an individual Muslim's understanding and interpretation of Islam, but an orthodox adherence to Islam can indeed be dangerous.

Over time I have also reflected on Islamic veiling. Depending on the woman, veiling can sometimes entail not just that a woman covers herself, but also that she wears drab colors, intentionally making herself into something unattractive. Such drabness seeks to efface the woman's appearance. It is indeed an eyesore.

I like your downloadable flyer.

There’s a technique called ‘glamour bombing’. It consists of leaving flyers like this on tables in waiting areas (doctors, dentists, veterinarians…) or inserting them in newspapers left in restaurants, etc. People will read it, then put it back, and others will do the same. Until someone screeches ‘islamophobia’…

I really do not know if headdress of Muslim women is something wrong, what should be stigmatized. I think that the hijab often emphasizes the beauty of women, making it more mysterious ... I do not perceive it as the enslavement of women. Perhaps this is a demonstration of their own religious beliefs, it is often also a political demonstration. From what I know headgear of women in Islam is a matter of purely customary. In your email you express an opinion about the risks of the spread of Islam - I agree with you, Islamization is the greatest threat to the world. However, I believe that the introduction of the ban on wearing headgear for Muslim women will not do anything, an example may be secular Turkey. Such a prohibition caused the radicalization of young Muslim students who en masse began to wear the hijab in universities. Besides, is not it better to know who is a Muslim and who is not in times of real danger from them? What do you think?

You ask: what do I think? I agree with you in one thing: Islamization is a huge threat to the world - to democracy, freedom of expression, the equality of women and men.

As for your response to the Muslim headscarf - our responses are individual.

I'm not advocating a ban.

I am advocating we recognize that the Muslim headscarf is a sign the person believes in the Muslim religion, which is for the destruction of our civilization.

I think it changes a lot, when we stop seeing it as something basically meaningless, to something that stands for, by any means, the destruction of Western civilization.

Good article. Dressing is the outward manifestation of our thoughts and values!
Women who wear the Muslim headscarf or Muslim men who keep beards, moustaches and long hair are all trying to show to the world that they are more a pious Muslim, a more religious Muslim than others! They reject all non-Islamic values! Their first loyalty is to Islam and the Sharia.

They are making a political statement with their dress. They want to copy Prophet Mohammad down to the last detail.

Moderate Muslims don't dress that way. These are possible signs of radicalization.

It is called “denial”. I also suffer from that PC mental condition. We hear a couple of true moderate Muslims speak out when wearing traditional Muslim garb, and the more “reasonable” worldview seems to win our thoughts. Then we look around (like at my local Costco where 1 in 20 women this week had their heads covered), and listen to what seems to be mainstream Muslims speak out, and our minds once again go into battle with our hearts.

Of course not all Muslims believe in the nasty parts of sharia, but in America an estimated 85%+ do (as shown in many demographic studies), and those Muslims who do not, stay very quiet in order to avoid problems from within and without of the ummah. It is interesting to see all the Muslim families at the park across the street. Many of all ages do and do not cover their heads and arms and hands. It is not a generational thing. Some do, some don’t from three generations.

I would not recommend believing that the headscarf is a good indicator as to if a Muslim is an Islamist. Some Muslim look very Western.

Well said. People do react (rightly or wrongly) to swastikas, crosses, Confederate flags, American flags...

Speaking as you do, you share the spirit of poet Ezra Pound who said –

· “If a man isn't willing to take some risk for his opinions, either his opinions are no good or he's no good.”
and
· “Artists are the antennae of the race”

Strange company, the latter quote is brought up-to-date by Allen Ginsberg:

· “I am the Defense Early Warning Radar System."
I see nothing but bombs”

Perhaps our anti-Islamic-terrorist campaign would make better progress if we highlighted our conceptual alliance with such outspoken voices of the left (idolized as they are by our effete elite)!

I have another take on the wearing of the Muslim headscarf, i.e. the wearing of the scarf by non-Muslim women as a means of avoiding harassment by Moslem men.

I have heard of an instance of this here in Australia where a young woman wears a Moslem headscarf when she goes to the suburb of Auburn in Sydney. Auburn is one of several areas in Sydney which have a large Moslem community.

Yours sincerely,

EXCELLENT topic. I am so glad that you took it on.

Additional angle:

A woman is wearing a headscarf so that she won't be raped by the Muslim males who are not expected to control themselves when seeing a woman's or even a young girl's hair.

I've had mixed and complex feelings about the headscarf myself. I used to just think hijabs were pretty and often stylish -- actually, I still think they often look quite stylish, even now that I worry a great deal about what they stand for. Now I too wonder what it means. I don't think all Muslims know everything about the supremacist program, or if they do, I suspect many have a very soft-pedaled version of it in their minds. That is, I doubt all of them -- maybe not even the majority -- are actually envisioning mass killings, or thinking that they hate us. Obviously some do like to bang on about how much they hate us, but I suspect many are thinking just that they're taking pride in their heritage, or taking a stand for decency, for morality, for civilization.

They probably feel that if and when they gain enough power to "civilize" our world, as they see it, it will be too bad if we're so foolish as to resist the blessings of Islamic civilization, but that doesn't mean that they wish us any harm -- and they don't actually realize that what they're contemplating is our destruction. In short, I'm getting the impression that many Muslims aren't exactly *lying* when they say their intentions are benign -- it's that they're so wrapped up in the idea "Our way is the right way" that they don't even stop to consider what it will mean if they force their way onto the rest of us. Or they think that it will eventually become clear to us that Islam is the best way, that they're saving us from our depravity, and that anyone who can't see it must be a wicked person who deserves what they get.

I would actually really like to know more about what each individual hijabi thinks about us kuffar and about the future fate of our civilization, and how she hopes things will go, but I have a feeling that what we might find would often be a mixture of incomprehension and denial as to why we feel the headscarf is a flag of civilizational war.

Multiculturalism, political correctness and bending over backwards to please Muslims are all self-destructive in the long run. Muslims are usually on their best behavior when they are in the minority. They always show their true colors whenever they are in the majority! Discrimination towards women and non-Muslims is very open, widespread and systemic in all Muslim majority countries. Just look at Malaysia, a so-called moderate Muslim country. Their legislation and policies discriminate against non-Muslims!

Look around the world and you will see that whenever Muslims are in the majority, they would eventually impose their Sharia (Islamic law) onto the whole nation. By default, this would destroy democracy, liberty and all other religions!

Muslim behavioral patterns are all very consistent and similar because their core values come from the Koran.
